Community Nursing Competency Framework

Nurses, employers and course providers may use the CNCF as a reference to set job role expectations, develop training roadmaps and design workplace-based nursing education courses.

The CNCF is applicable to all settings and institutions outside of acute hospitals. The framework lists 12 Job Role Profiles (JRPs) and 12 Professional Competencies (PCs) organised into four competency domains.

Overview of the Community Nursing Competency Framework

A total of 12 Professional Competencies (PCs) have been developed for the community nursing sector and each PC has 4 levels of Proficiency. You may click on the competency elements to view the knowledge and abilities for the different levels of proficiency.
