Programme Outline
Pain can become more noticeable during the menopause transition, affecting joints, muscles, the head, pelvis or several areas at once. The 2026 International Menopause Society highlights that this pain is real, often multifactorial and should not simply be accepted as part of ageing.
Using the PAIN to POWER framework, this interactive session will explore pain-processing mechanisms and how interaction of hormones, sleep, stress, lifestyle, movement and other factors may shape, amplify or sustain the experience of midlife pain. Moving from understanding to responding and protecting one's mobility, independence and quality of life through midlife and beyond including a short demonstration on practical mobility and strengthening exercises to help maintain joint function, mobility, and confidence.
