Programme Outline
Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is a common yet often underdiagnosed sleep disorder that causes repeated interruptions in breathing during sleep due to upper airway obstruction. These episodes can significantly affect sleep quality and place stress on the heart and other organs. OSA affects a substantial proportion of adults in Singapore, making it an important public health concern.
This webinar provides an overview of OSA, including its causes, symptoms, risk factors, and potential complications. It also explores available treatment options, ranging from lifestyle modifications and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy to oral appliances and surgical interventions where appropriate.
Designed to raise awareness of this often-overlooked condition, the session highlights the importance of early detection and informed treatment decisions. Participants will gain practical knowledge to recognise warning signs, understand available management strategies, and take proactive steps towards better sleep, improved health, and enhanced quality of life.
