Programme Outline

1) Understand the practical implications of different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and dementia with Lewy bodies.

2) Recognise and manage delirium in people living with dementia, including identifying different presentations and treatment approaches.

3) Identify signs of depression in older adults and apply strategies to support those living with dementia.

4) Apply the Newcastle Model to understand unmet needs and respond effectively to behaviours.

5) Use reflective frameworks (Gibbs’ and Johns’ models) to enhance professional practice.
