Course Description: This course provides essential knowledge and skills required to give competent nursing care and management of patients with a tracheostomy tube. Attendees will have an interactive and immersive learning experience with a combination of didactics, hands-on clinical skills practice and simulated scenarios. Topics covered are Nursing care of patient with a tracheostomy, Dysphagia management and speech, weaning and decannulation and managing tracheostomy emergencies (desaturation and dislodgement). Eligible for 4 CPE points upon successful completion of the course.
