Course Description: This course aims to equip nurses to uphold principles of professional, legal and ethical conduct, policies and procedures and inclusive work practices into nursing practice.
Objectives:
1. Explain the guidelines and standards of regulatory bodies, the legal and ethical requirements in professional practice.
2. State workplace safety and health requirements and risk management principles to maintain a safe environment.
3. Demonstrate the ability to practice within professional boundaries, adhering to the competencies expected by professional certification and regulatory bodies.
4. Apply organisational, legal, ethical, and professional legal and ethical policies and procedures to professional activities
5. Apply an ethical decision-making framework to analyse and resolve ethical dilemmas encountered in practice.
6. Apply the concepts of advocacy for the safety, security, and well-being of patients and clients, promoting culturally inclusive policies and practices.
7. Implement plans of care in compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks of professional practice.
