Course Description: NIV is a respiratory care therapy prescribed for use in the acute care hospital, long term care and home-based settings. Nursing care of patients on NIV focus on ventilation monitoring, device management, skin care and nutritional care. The workshop is taught by an interprofessional team faculty. Instructional strategies include didactic and practical hands-on session. Participants will be exposed to a range of NIV devices, patient interfaces and skin care techniques.
