Mental Health First Aid Provider Course

Course Description: This course offers a structured pathway to understanding mental health and providing supportive, recovery-oriented care. Grounded in the biopsychosocial-spiritual model, it guides participants in identifying contributing factors and recognising common mental health conditions in community healthcare. Participants will explore general management strategies, as well as essential ethical and legal considerations in mental healthcare. Embracing a recovery-oriented approach, the course emphasizes empathy, respect, and cultural competence, fostering awareness of how personal attitudes shape care. Participants will develop skills in screening for mental health concerns, supporting therapeutic activities, and coordinating care with relevant services. Additionally, the course addresses strategies for fostering meaningful social engagement and self-care, equipping participants to enhance the well-being of others and themselves.​
