Course Description: LSCN is developed for Registered Nurses to be competent first responders to be able to resuscitate patient in cardiac arrest effectively in hospital settings. The course utilizes multiple teaching modalities including online lectures and hands on skills demonstrations to simulate a resuscitation situation to integrate in depth theory to practice. The skills include airway management, defibrillation and mega code scenarios to build leadership skills during resuscitation.
The LSCN aims to bridge the gap between BCLS and ACLS. The objectives are to impart:
1. Critical background knowledge pertinent to the care of collapsed patients in hospitals and clinics, especially cardiac arrest patients
2. In depth knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
3. Knowledge and skills in the treatment of ischemic heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias.
